Julio Bestani is a founding partner of R2B Partners. He has extensive experience in real estate, agribusiness and finance in Latin America.
He began his career at the commodities trading desk at Salomon Brothers in New York and continued in corporate banking at Citibank N. A. in Buenos Aires.
Bestani was the Chief Financial Officer since inception of Adecoagro (NYSE: AGRO), an agro-industrial company with operations in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay, originally backed by Soros Fund Management.
He was co-founder and CEO of Agrifirma Brazil Ltd, a company based in Brazil with Rothschild Investment Trust (RIT) as its main financial sponsor, dedicated to the acquisition of large tracts of underutilized rural real estate and its transformation into highly productive operations.
Julio Bestani received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Universidad de San Andrés in Buenos Aires and an MBA from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Julio speaks Spanish, English, Portuguese and French.
He is a member of the board of nonprofit Fundación Cimientos, a member of the Patrons Committee of Universidad de San Andrés and the International Board of Advisors of Kennan-Flagler Business School.
